Yay Zipcar!

Chad was selected for zipcar’s low car diet! Starting on the 21st and lasting for a month, he agrees to go easy on the driving for a month and provide feedback on their program.

In return, he gets a free year of zip car, the application fee waived, somewhere around $150 on a zipcard, and some other stuff (maybe even some money for transit – that would definitely help his commute).

We generally don’t drive on the weekend, since everything in Alexandria is close enough to walk or bike too.  However, we both definitely see the nearby zipcars as a shopping car. We’ll certainly use the pick up truck they’ve got sitting at the Eisenhower Metro station when we finally go out an buy a futon!
