Language and the Foreign Service Register

March 21, 2009
By melissa

FSOA score.  While State says it best, I’ll summarize the...

No Census Taking for Me

March 19, 2009
By melissa

I just got off of the phone with a very nice lady from the census bureau. She wanted to offer me a job as an ennumerator. Everything sounded great at first: 10 weeks of work, 20 hours a week, $20 per hour, evenings and possibly weekend. However, they would want me to go through...

March 3, 2009
By melissa

Having passed the Oral Assessment and reviewed my conditional offer paperwork, I can safely say that I still don’t know. I haven’t cleared...

I passed the FSOA!

March 3, 2009
By melissa

This post is going to be long, but the day was pretty long too. When I went to bed on Sunday night it was snowing lightly and I was worried that the government might close and I would have to reschedule for a much later date. At about 3am, someone started snow blowing the...
