Great idea - but I imagine pretty challenging. Does the cuisine get boring at all? BTW, where are you on the register now? Best of luck!

Melissa,

I love the $56 in February idea! Besides the savings part, it shows how used we (people who live in the US) are to commodities and having everything ready to eat even if it means higher price. Don't give up! Even if it is more difficult than the past years... you've got a tradition going here, and you're inspiring other people. We (your blog fans) are here to support you.

You should check out the book "Hungry Planet: What the World Eats". It is more like a collection of photos of what families around the world eat for a week. It's just such a beautiful book, I know you would like it.

And just for the record, I am one of "those of you who come here for Foreign Service related information", which is what originally brought me to your blog, and while I can say that you have one of the most informative sites on the FSO selection process (including your oh so helpful dimensions worksheet), I really enjoy your non-FS related posts! Thank you for sharing all these experiences, and best of luck with your first assignment!
