A-100 Offer!
I’m on vacation, and we’ve been staying at my parents place. The guest bedroom is comfortable, but the morning sun ALWAYS wakes me up. This morning I didn’t mind so much, because when I checked my email from my phone I had an offer for the August 2nd A-100.
Chad says he was awake when I told him the news, but at 6:00 AM, he wasn’t as awake as I was once I saw the subject line: “Invite to August Class”
I am sooooo excited. This is something I’ve wanted for a very long time, and the process to get here was very long. I can’t wait to start this next chapter of our lives. Hooray!

As I told Chad on the phone yesterday (and I’m sure he passed on to you) – it was MORE great news regarding your “journey”. You should be so proud of yourself – it’s been a lot of work. And I’m sure from your comments, your messages that I’m sure you are getting from family & friends (via in person, email, phone) that everyone is happy for you.
September will be a huge month for loved ones leaving & others finding out where they may be headed too. The good Lord will get us thru.

Melissa – congrats! I have actually followed your blog for some time as my husband was going through the different stages of the FS process about the same time as you. He also got an invite to the August 2nd class. Your blog was very helpful along the way – see you in DC!

Congrats Melissa! What a life awaits you! My husband is in the 154th A-100 right now and we are currently sorting through the bid list. We are also local hires and DINKs :) This time period is extremely overwhelming for me and I can’t imagine doing it with small kids and being far from home, as many other FSOs in his class are. Best of luck and hopefully we’ll run into you at FSI!
