Wedding

One down, many to go

Neither Chad nor I can believe that a year has already gone by since we exchanged vows on the side of a mountain on the Big Island of Hawaii.  The calendar, however, presents a pretty good arguement.  Even though yesterday was a Monday, we managed to celebrate in style.  Halfway through my day I got a fruit bouquet – YUM!  The highlight of the day, however, was our dinner in the tasting room at Restaurant Eve.

Restaurant Eve’s attention to detail and caliber of service are, in my experience, unparalleled. When I made our reservations, they asked if it was a special occasion and when I told them it would be our anniversary they asked for the spelling of both of our names (we couldn’t figure out why). On our arrival, they seated us side by side for a more intimate experience (we noticed two other tables in the 34 seat tasting room were arranged the same way), and once we opened our menus we figured out why they wanted the spelling of our names.

We had a fantastic meal that was billed as 5 courses, but, counting amuse bouche, bread, palette cleansers and petit fours, came to 11 courses instead. Everything was fantastic and we even got a gift to take home!

Chad and I are looking forward to whatever adventures come our way in the next year – and all of the years that will follow.

YAY!

Professional Pictures!

Over the weekend we got a present in the mail from the wonderful Alecia Hoyt. The DVD’s with our pictures on them! I resized and renamed them and put them online. The quality is high enough to print regular (4X6, 5X7) photos. If you want a higher resolution for bigger pictures, just let me know.

You can see the pictures in the photos section -> the wedding week -> the wedding day -> professional photos

Among the things we forgot to buy for the kids: toothbrushes, toothpaste, kids bath stuff. Aurora came into our room about 10 minutes after we woke up, and crawled into bed with us. Hooray honeymoon. We let Ozzie sleep in some more, and Chad ran over to the sundry shop at the hotel to get them toothbrushes, etc. Again, I’m soooo glad we had that two bedroom condo. Read the rest of this entry »

I can’t call this a honeymoon because it wasn’t. Not really. Chad and I had a fantastic 12 hours after the wedding together, and one days, we’ll have a real honeymoon. One of these days we’ll come back to the Big Island and do all of the things we wanted to do. First, I have to write about what happened the day after the wedding. Read the rest of this entry »

Alecia took such great pictures, and while we don’t have the high resolution pictures yet, we put together a slideshow with what we were able to screenshot from the proofing site. I hope you like it!
